Once again it’s time to call on marketers to play their part in the only direct marketing industry tracking study – the fast.MAP/DMA Marketing-GAP research.

As always, the consumer version of the research will be conducted in real time, using fast.MAP’s consumer panel selected to mirror the UK population profile. The marketers’ panel comprises DMA members.

Consumers are asked to express their views and preferences, but marketers are required to use their experience to judge what the consumers’ responses will be.

fast.MAP will then calculate the Marketing GAP between consumer reality and what the marketers think is going on in the UK marketplace and track any changes, which have occurred since the 2''5, 2''6, 2''7 and 2''8 research.

The 2''8 survey revealed some unexpected consumer trends and illuminated some glaring marketer misconceptions.
